Our story
Started with one flooded school, not a five-year plan
In 2011, a small group of university volunteers travelled to Kurigram after monsoon floods destroyed a primary school. What began as a weekend rebuild became a promise to stay. Jibon Foundation was formally registered the following year, and the same principle still guides every program: show up first, plan second, and let the community lead.
Today we're active in 12 districts across the char lands of the north, the coastal belt of the south-east, and pockets of urban Dhaka, working on education, health, livelihoods and disaster response.

One flooded school in Kurigram
A handful of volunteers rebuild a monsoon-damaged primary school — the spark for everything that followed.
Formally registered
Jibon Foundation is registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau, Government of Bangladesh.
First learning centres open
The Shikhon after-school model launches in three char-land unions in Kurigram.
Mobile health clinics begin
Maa O Shishu clinics start reaching mothers along riverine and coastal routes.
Livelihoods program scales up
Nijer Bol micro-grants expand to 1,800 households across six districts.
